The following is the most common process for getting connected into the Harvest family:
1. Attend a Worship Service Usually the first place someone becomes acquainted with Harvest Bible Chapel is by attending a Sunday morning worship service. This is the time and place where we gather together to lift high the name of Jesus in worship and to study the Word of God. Harvest is a church that is contemporary without compromise—we are stylistically contemporary and committed to the sufficiency of the Scriptures and its proclamation (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:3-4). To best get the heartbeat of Harvest, we encourage you to attend three consecutive worship services before determining whether Harvest is the church home for you.
2. Attend Party with the PastorsThe 2nd step in the connecting process at Harvest is to attend this casual gathering that usually takes place in a home. Party with the Pastors will include time to introduce key leaders, review our core values, take your questions, and have fun getting to know one another. Due to its limited size you will need to pre-register for this event.
3. Join a Connection GroupHarvest is very big on small groups, or what we call Connection Groups. Connection Groups are not just “another thing” at Harvest; they are our main channel for ongoing growth and care of each person in the Harvest family. We believe that the small group environment is the best place for individuals and couples to encourage and challenge each other to consistently apply the truths of God's Word to every area of one’s life. Connection Groups meet in homes throughout the week and are designed to help you develop deeper relationships with others and God.
4. Attend Peak PerformanceThis is a multi-session class designed to provide a thorough understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Harvest Bible Chapel. Peak Performance discusses the history, structure, and key doctrines of Harvest Bible Chapel, as well as the purposes and expectations of membership.
After attending Peak Performance each person will receive a membership application form. Once the application form is received a membership interview will be set up with one of our church leaders. Individual’s names are then placed in the Harvest Update for two weeks, and, if there are no concerns raised by other members of Harvest, the individual is officially welcomed into the membership at Harvest Bible Chapel.
5. Serve at HarvestThe Scripture calls for every one of God’s people to be living out the love of Christ by serving each other and our communities (Matthew 5:14-16; 1 Corinthians 12-13). Therefore, Harvest wants every believer to be serving Christ in some kind of ministry fashion. Serving does not only honor Jesus Christ but is a great way to develop meaningful relationships with others. Whether it be serving in the children’s or youth ministries, one-on-one discipleship/counseling, playing an instrument or singing, facilitating/apprenticing a Connection Group, helping with technology, serving in leadership, working on construction projects, volunteering in the church office, or any of an endless list of creative ways to live out your gifts, talents, and passions for Christ, the point is to serve because you love Jesus and others.
